One of the worst results for a Republican in
a district where Republicans usually lose.

AD-54 M E Flores-Gibson (R) did relatively good garnering 6.5% of the vote, more than did the Republican candidate in 2006.

53rd AD - Democratic turn out was terrible. 30k people less voted than in 2006 in that district! Nathan Mintz (R) was still defeated though he managed
to get 6-7% more votes than the 2006 Repubican AD candidate and was leading early in the tally. For the Torrance district,
he did really good.

AD-60 The Democrat candidate managed to get 6% more than the Democrat did in 2006.

Most of the Republican Assembly candidates (in seats they usually lose) dropped about .5-2% in percentage of loss to Democrats from
2006. A few went up 1-2%.

State Senate Candidates-

22 SS - Kathleen Evans (R) got 27% of the vote. No Republican ran in 22-SSD in 2006.

26 SS - Rabbi Shifren managed to get 2.70% more votes than the Libertarian running for that position in 2006 when no Republican ran. Shifren
got 13.6% of the total vote.

28 SS - Oropeza (D) got 3% less votes than 2006 and she died a couple of weeks before the 2010 election from a blood clot!
John Stammreich (R) will face a special election against whom? He got about 1% more of vote than the 2006 Republican
candidate of 2006.

32 SS - Earl Devries (R) got 27% of the vote. No Republican candidate ran in 2006.

Congressional Candidates-

35CD - K Bruce Brown (R) placed better than Ted Hayes' showing in 2008 with 21% of the vote, nearly 7.5% more of the vote than Hayes. One of the biggest improvements for a Repubican in 2010.

33CD - James Andion (R) was beaten by Karen Bass by 73% of the vote. Terrible showing.

37CD - Star Parker with name recognition and a 1.2 million campaign received 23%
of the vote. That's only 5.50% more than the Libertarian candidate got in 2006 when no Republican ran.

Congressional seats that improved the loss margin. K Bruce Brown (R) did the best by getting 7.5% of the vote in CD35. Mark Reed (R) / Chuck Wilkerson (R) / Mattie Fein (R) lowered the margin of loss by about 3-6%
(Tea Party effect or enthusiastic campaigning?), while most of the other Republicans lost by the same margin (1-3%) or close to the 2006 numbers
e.g. Robert Vaughn, Robert Colbert, Wayne Miller, Merlin Froyd etc.

Most improved-

K. Bruce Brown, Nathan Mintz (R) , M E Flores-Gibson (R), and Chuck Wilkerson (R) earn most improved Republicans in vote getting, increasing margins by over 5% in their districts.

So they did relatively well.

Democrat turnout in LA County was terrible this year! Was this due to the Obama Effect in 2008?

Turnout was bad all around. The following is for turnout in LA County *alone*.

FOR

(Senator) Terrible turn out in LA County for the vote for US Senator for both parties ....Carly Fiorina (R) got 220k less votes than Bill Jones (R)
did in 2004. Boxer (D) got 800k less votes from the populace than she did in 2004! Still the Dems won.

(Lieutenant Gov) 155k less people voted for Bustamante (R) than did Tom McClintock (R) in 2006 .

(Sec. Of State) Damon Dunn (R) got 130k less votes than Tony Stickland (R) did in 2006.

Democrats won ALL the big state offices except Attorney General by decisive margins. Typically 60% to 30%
win margin or 2 to 1.

Propositions-

Prop 25 passed.

Oddities-

The Libertarian candidate's vote for Lieu. Gov. tripled from 2006 to about 100k people, up from the 33k in 2006. That's
about 5.6% of the vote.

The Steve Cooley and Kamala Harris race is still undecided. Out of all Repblicans, Cooley did the best in L.A. County getting about 40% of the votes, yet many votes are still uncounted.

Upcoming Freedom Action National Conference

From The American Policy Center

There’s only one place where you can learn the truth
By Tom DeWeese

There is no conference in the nation to match the upcoming Freedom Action National Conference. Let me tell you why!

Every other freedom-based conference being held this summer is focusing on the symptoms, not the cause of the destruction of our Republic. If you don’t understand the disease, you can’t cure it. Simple as that.

The problem is not liberals, or democrats or even Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. They are the result. They are the messengers. They are the visible targets. Over spending, high taxes, abortion, gun control, illegal immigration, global warming, Cap and Trade, national IDs and healthcare are the result, not the cause of our destruction.

The root of nearly every one of the issues we are fighting against is the result of the drive to impose the UN’s Agenda 21 and its policy of Sustainable Development. Why do so many of our leaders in the freedom movement ignore Sustainable Development? This is the process that is uniting globalists, free traders, healthcare advocates, global corporations, Acorn, RINOs, and radical environmentalists.

Tea Party activists keep trying to figure out why the Republicans they elected keep turning their back on their values. The answer is Sustainable Development. It’s bipartisan destruction. Why won’t the government secure our border and stop the invasion of illegals – Sustainable Development. Why does the United States tolerate the outrageous of the United Nations – Sustainable Development.

Ignore the UN and its Agenda 21 policy and you miss events like the UN’s 2005 World Environment Day in San Francisco, where Mayors from around the world were hosted and recruited to impose Sustainable Development in their communities. The Mayors were asked to sign two documents to pledge their commitment to sustainable policies to be implemented in a specific time table. These included control of water, development and private property. Right behind the UN was the U.S. Conference of Mayors, which met in Chicago one week after the San Francisco meeting focusing on the same Agenda 21/Sustainable Development policies.

And then there is ICLEI – the International Council for Local Environmental initiatives. ICLEI helped write Agenda 21 and now works to implement it on the local level in more than 600 American communities. ICLEI is busy working with local officials to create unelected boards, councils and regional government answerable to no one. That is the definition of a “soviet.” Freedom Fighters cannot restore our Republic if our local communities are little soviets.

Finally, the full concept of Sustainable Development is rooted in what we call the three Es – Social Equity, Economic Prosperity and Ecological Integrity. It is an entire social agenda designed to create what Al Gore called a “wrenching transformation” of our society. That transformation is the pain the tea parties are blindly reacting to.

Sustainable Development’s Social Equity plank is based on a demand for “social justice,” a term coined by Karl Marx. It means that individuals must give up “selfish” wants for the needs of the common good or the “community.” Through such a policy everyone has the right to demand a job, healthcare and housing. Sustainable Development is against national borders, calling them a “social injustice. Just as it says private property ownership is a social injustice because it helps build wealth for some. These are the ideas that helped creat the downfall of our economy. That’s Sustainable Dvelopment. The root of Sustainable Development is nothing less than redistribution wealth.

Have you ever heard any of this discussed at a single conference in the nation? Only the Freedom Action National Conference will reveal this enemy of freedom – with the best experts in the nation. And we will provide workshops to train you to fight back.

Do you truly want to save America? Then why aren’t you headed to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania next weekend? Tom Woods, Sheriff Richard Mack, Michael Badnarik, Michael Shaw, Larry Pratt, and a whole slew of experts on the ravages of Sustainable Development are going to be there to teach you how to truly save America.

You can get all the details and register at www.freedomactionconference.com. Be there to learn the truth. And if you can’t actually make it there – that is no excuse. For just $29 you can se the whole conference from your computer as it will be live streamed. If you truly want to save this great nation, then stop making excuses and go where the real patriots are as the forces of freedom return to Valley Forge.

Register now!

The Los Angeles Conservatives Alliance

Join us as we

"Trump The Race Card"

Thursday, July 29, 2010 in Phoenix Arizona
7:30 pm to 10 pm

FEATURED SPEAKERS IN PHOENIX

Michelle Malkin, Senator Pearce, Ted Hayes, John Eastman, Joe Hicks, Rev. The notorious and irreverent Reverend Al Sharpton has called for a massive civil disobedience march supporting the illegal actions of foreign nationals on Thursday the 29th and on July 30 & 31, our very own Ted Hayes, the national black spokesman for the anti-illegal immigration movement, and Arizona Senator Russell Pearce, the author of the anti-illegal-immigration bill SB1070, have organized a major rally to "Trump The Race Card" on the grounds of the Arizona State Capitol.

We plan on filming both events for a documentary tentatively titled "Ted Hayes Trumps the Race Card" which will include Al Sharpton's anti-American event on Thursday the 29th, and the Pearce/Hayes event the following two days including a vigil for the fallen Border Agents and LACA's meeting on “Conservatism and the Civil Rights Legacy”.

If you are a Conservative company or organization and would like to fully or partially underwrite the $2,000 in truck rental, fuel, hotel and per diem expenses, we will arrange for Production credits and branding opportunities for your company on PopModal.com, LAConservatives.com and in all our promotional efforts. Convention on the Rights of the Child". The ratification of this treaty must be stopped. Please read the article and take action by calling your Senator that you do not agree with the "U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child".

This is an election year in California for our U.S. Senator. I ask you to bring this issue up at every Town Hall Meeting, Candidate's Forum, and every interview. Know where the candidate's stand on this one important issue.

Please read the article below and take action:

Gov't = caretaker, parent = babysitter
Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 6/5/2010 4:20:00 AM

The Senate is expected to take up the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The effort is a dangerous treaty for the family, according to pediatrician Rosemary Stein of Burlington, North Carolina, and a spokesperson for the Christian Medical Association (CMA).

"It takes away the parents' rights to rear their child and gives it to the government," she explains. "The government becomes the caretaker and the guardian, and the parent becomes the babysitter. Another way to define it would be 'the government takeover of our children.'"

If the contract is enforced, the government would have the right to intercede or supersede if officials believe the parents are doing something that is not in the best interest of the child. An example of this comes from Germany, where the government has passed laws that ban parents from homeschooling their children.

"I didn't know that it was this insidious, and at the same time, this overwhelming," Stein laments. "It goes over everything -- what you teach them, what you do with them [and] how they're reared."

The CMA spokesman predicts this will change society from the bottom up. For instance, a 16-year-old girl in Great Britain asked her parents to let her boyfriend move in and share her bedroom. When the parents said no, the teen filed suit and won.

It is not known when the U.S. Senate will try to ratify the treaty, so Dr. Stein says people need to start contacting their senators to voice their views.

Lydiaforkids2010.com

Next Rally to save Veteran's Land in Westwood June 13th

Fellow Veterans and Friends of Veterans:

Join us at the Northeast Corner of Wilshire and San Vicente Boulevards; Many of our youth who drop out do not have the funds to go on to college or do they necessarily desire to go right after high school.

When a youth has an opportunity to apply him or herself to be productive for their future especially providing for their basic needs, they are more likely to work towards these goals.

There is actually more financial gain for the district and community when a youth is in school.

What will AB 2446 do?

It will add California Technology Education (CTE) to the Educational Code by allowing a student to complete one of the following courses:

Visual or Performing Arts

Foreign Language

CA Technology Education

When will it start?

Commencing in the 2011-2012 school year.

How will it impact?

a.
Due to such persistence, the American Civil Liberties Union like a US Cavalry to the rescue arrived on time to bolster the efforts of US Veteran Robert Rosebrock and his band of “Commandos-Rangers-Special Force” brothers – The Old Guard at the now historic Battle at Brentwood.

As a US Army soldier, for my sake and all American citizens then, now, tomorrow and for however long this nation exists in Liberty, my father took the blood of German fathers, sons, brothers, uncles, nephews et al during WWII and that of Koreans in the Korean War, even as they in turn took some of his (he was wounded in both conflicts).

Also, three of my brothers served the civilian populations of our beloved nation during the 1960’s and early 70’s.

However, when it came my time to put my life's blood and sanity on the line for the freedoms that I enjoyed, even protesting the US military and the Vietnam War in the 1960's because it was "cool" to do so, I ran like the ignorant coward that I was.

Gratefully, since maturing out of those certain days of my youth I have learned to love the only country that we Blacks - Emancipated Slave citizens enjoy, and to demonstratively support Our Troops and US Military Veterans.

Once again, I acknowledge and apologize for my dereliction to DUTY HONOR COUNTRY to all US Military Veterans who have served me throughout our nation’s history, especially those of the Vietnam Era even during my rebellious ignorance.

Therefore, I salute with deep awe, respect and appreciation to Robert Rosebrock and his band of "Commando-Ranger-Special Forces" – The Old Guard and their supporters who have unwaveringly held an outpost of freedom in Brentwood, California on behalf of Our Troops, Veterans and all that we US citizens are American for.

Duty, Honor, Country – While there have been many individuals, organizations and groups who have been to the front lines at the battle of Brentwood on Sundays afternoons, it is primarily the following honorable folks who as American Centurions have waged a lonely fight for our nation’s ideals of Freedom, and they are with great respect the following individuals:

Steve Palmer, WW II, 87
Hank Papeika, WW II, Korean War, 84
Newt Young, Korean War, 81
Dick Breithaupt, Korean War, 81
Larry Cardenas, Korean War, 80
Bettina Michaels, Veteran Widow, 82
Sam Cardova, Korean War, 80
Ernie Hilger, Vietnam-era, 68
Bob Handy, Korean and Vietnam War, 78
John Stamatiades, Korean and Vietnam War, 75
Gloria Manciocchi – Civilian Supporter of Veterans

Over the last two years, I have periodically stood with and witnessed with my own eyes Mr. Rosebrock and his “band of elderly brothers” – The Old Guard and will by the LORD Grace continue to do so, primarily because my service is owed to these and all US Military Veterans as well as Our Troops, past and future.

Finally, with much gratitude to the leaders of Los Angeles County branch of the
American Civil Liberties Union for only obeying the Law of our US Constitution, and following the humane dictates of their hearts to come to the rescue of those very special men and women standing courageously every Sunday afternoon at their post against the overwhelming forces of the "Brentwood gang of Rebels". Big Time Thank You, ACLU!

Big Big TIME THANK You Rosebrock for your leadership, tenacity and courage. On behalf of all Patriotic American citizens, especially homeless US Military Veterans, we are all most grateful to GOD for each and every one of you for your commitment to DUTY HONOR COUNTRY.

Calling on all civilian citizens to please come to Brentwood on Sunday afternoons, between 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and re-enforce our Veteran Troops of The Old Guard.

All the Best of GOD to you and yours as you support our United States Military Veterans.
DeVore's endorsement, by a margin of 194 votes to 89 for distant-second Carly Fiorina, was the first by a statewide Republican organization in the California U.S. Senate race.

The CRA endorsement of Chuck DeVore was the more remarkable for the tremendous effort the Fiorina campaign put into blocking it. With a 2/3 majority required for an endorsement, that campaign needed to secure the support of only a small minority of delegates. To that end: Carly Fiorina herself spent all day Saturday at the convention; delegates found anti-DeVore materials slipped under their hotel room doors; three of Fiorina's endorsing U.S. Senators wrote a letter to the delegates; Fiorina's supporters helped secure a procedural change allowing for a secret ballot; and during voting, delegates were supplied with Carly for California-branded pens.

Carly Fiorina had every advantage money could buy, and the conservative activists of the CRA decisively endorsed Chuck DeVore on the first round.

"I'm sincerely humbled to receive the endorsement of my fellow members of the California Republican Assembly," said Chuck DeVore, "The CRA is, as Ronald Reagan said, 'the conscience of the Republican Party.' That's why I've been a member for 22 years, and that's why I'll keep fighting for the core principles it advances -- all the way to the United States Senate."

Leisa Brug Kline, DeVore for California campaign manager, said, "When Chuck DeVore addressed the CRA yesterday, he said, 'I submit to you that being right beats being rich every time.' With his tremendous first-ballot victory, he's proven right. California's conservatives know who's been with them from the beginning -- and they'll stick with him right through till he beats Barbara Boxer."

The California Republican Assembly is online at CaliforniaRepublicanAssembly.com.

The DeVore for California campaign is online at ChuckDeVore.com

You can make a donation to the campaign here: https://chuckdevore.com/n/donate/
DeVore for California
paid for by DeVore for California

The Leadership Coup in the Los Angeles County Republican Party.

Rick Williams, Esq.
February 17, 2010

As the lawyer representing Chairman Robert W. Vaughn and the validly elected Executive Board of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County (“RPLAC”), I read with interest the recent article published by Harmeet K. Dhillon on February 15, 2010 entitled “Will the ‘Real’ Los Angeles County GOP Please Stand Up?” Ms. Dhillon is my worthy opposing counsel in the lawsuit recently filed by my clients against purported RPLAC “Chairman” Jane Barnett and her illegitimate Executive Board, but counsel apparently failed to notice the grand irony contained in the title of her article. While it might come as news to Ms. Dhillon, the “real” Los Angeles County leadership group (my clients) did “stand up,” on December 6, 2008– when they were validly and legitimately elected to RPLAC officer positions at the organizational meeting mandated by the California Elections Code. Plaintiffs Robert Vaughn, Roger Eshleman, and Constance Ruffley were elected at the RPLAC organizational meeting– exactly as called for in the Elections Code– while Jane Barnett and her supporters walked out of the organizational meeting and only later came back on May 14, 2009 and tried to capture RPLAC offices by way of a wrongful coup. Who is “real” and who is not? Who “stood up” at the legitimate organizational meeting, and who walked out? The answers to these questions are entirely clear.

Ms. Dhillon laments that a lawsuit has become necessary to resolve this RPLAC leadership issue. She pointedly suggests that Mr. Vaughn and his validly elected colleagues should “gracefully accept defeat” and abide by the outcome of the May 14, 2009 coup election. But let’s look closely at what actually occurred on the night of May 14. When we do, we quickly come to see that the conduct of Ms. Barnett and her fellow coup plotters was shocking and outrageous in the extreme. There’s no need to take my word on any of this—coup plotter Gary Aminoff (a defendant in the lawsuit, and First Vice Chair of the illegitimate Barnett group) told us exactly what the wrongdoers did, when they did it, and how they did it. In an email dated June 21, 2009, Mr. Aminoff wrote:

“Meetings throughout the County were held during early May to come up with an experienced Board, who could get the County Party to function the way it was supposed to. A slate of officers who were well known to the electives, who had the respect of the members, and who had experience in running political organizations were chosen for various offices. It was decided during those meetings that the entire Board had to be replaced. Roger [plaintiff Roger Eshleman] and Connie [plaintiff Constance Ruffley] as Secretary and Assistant Secretary had done their jobs fine. Unfortunately, they got caught up in the membership wanting to replace the entire Board. The Board that was ultimately chosen, and that was elected on May 14th, met all the requirements.” (Italics added.)

If that’s not the plotting of a coup, then I don’t know what is.

Mr. Aminoff viewed it as “irrelevant” that the May 14, 2009 coup violated the RPLAC Bylaws and Robert’s Rules of Order. He wrote on June 21, 2009:

“I know that Anthony Cinelli and others contend that the election violated the Bylaws and Robert’s Rules of Order. The fact is that they may have, but it is irrelevant. Here’s why. It is a well—established principle that a supermajority of a body (2/3) can vote to suspend the rules and the Bylaws and make new rules for a meeting.”

What??? Mr. Aminoff is telling us that a self professed “supermajority” can walk into a meeting, suspend the rules and Bylaws, appoint a bogus “Temporary Chairman,” make up their own new rules, and then throw out the validly elected officers of RPLAC! Suffice it to say that Mr. Aminoff and his fellow coup plotters have consistently exhibited a total misunderstanding of due process rights, good order, fundamental fairness, and the operative Bylaws and Rules that govern RPLAC affairs. Indeed, the entire “supermajority” argument is a complete and utter fabrication conjured up by the plotters out of thin air, and the idea that Jane Barnett and her Board were somehow legitimately “elected” on this basis at the May 14, 2009 meeting is an absurdity.

Robert Vaughn and his colleagues sought the opinion of the leading parliamentarian expert in America prior to filing their lawsuit. Nancy Sylvester is her name, and she has written two detailed expert opinions about the coup events of May 14. Without going into great detail, suffice it to say that Nancy Sylvester views the coup as something much more significant than a mere procedural “misunderstanding” between two competing officer groups in the RPLAC organization. Nancy Sylvester tells us in her written opinions that the actions by the coup plotters on May 14, 2009 were the most egregious violations that she has ever witnessed in her 35 years as a parliamentarian. In Ms. Sylvester’s opinion, it is “extremely clear” that what occurred on May 14, 2009 was not an error in interpretation of the Bylaws, but rather was “a planned and carefully executed attempt to usurp.” Ms. Sylvester tells us that the rights of the members of RPLAC were not only stepped on in the May 14, 2009 meeting, they were trampled. In her words: “What a travesty!”

The written notice transmitted to members in advance of the May 14, 2009 meeting said nothing about election of RPLAC officers as an agenda item for consideration that night. This absence of proper notice allowed the coup plotters to pack the meeting with their friends and supporters, while members who might have supported the legitimate officer group were kept in the dark about what was going to occur. In a point completely overlooked by my worthy opposing counsel, Nancy Sylvester tells us why this lack of proper notice is so important. It isn’t simply the rights of members present at a meeting that matter—without proper notice about the elections, the rights of all members are trampled upon, since absent members were deprived of their voice (and vote) by the secret plotting of the coup participants.

Ms. Dhillon argues that the RPLAC members should all just put this behind them and go about the business of electing Republicans to office. Yet at the same time, she writes with apparent pride about the fact that “the Defendants have finally fought back.” Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Ms. Dhillon postures that the coup plotters are somehow innocent victims, when in fact it was they who created the turmoil in the first place by sneaking into a meeting and attempting to throw out the validly elected officers. People sometimes come to believe the overhyped notion that “the best defense is a good offense,” but Ms. Dhillon’s characterization of my clients—the validly elected officers—as the ones who created this “chaos and uncertainty” goes far beyond mere lawyer posturing. Let’s recall a central point—Jane Barnett was a candidate for office at the valid organizational meeting on December 6, 2008, and she walked out when she and her slate realized they didn’t have the votes to win. Ms. Dhillon’s talk about “sore losers” is—at best—backwards.

There’s nothing “chilling” about this lawsuit where defendants’ First Amendment rights are concerned. Ms. Barnett and her colleagues are free to say or do whatever they want to help Republican candidates get elected, and the litigation relief requested is simply that they are not entitled to do so under the representation that they are validly elected officers of RPLAC when in fact they are not. My worthy opposing counsel apparently believes that the coup participants of May 14, 2009 should continue to be rewarded with RPLAC offices, and they’ll be victimized if their wrongfully held offices are taken away. Such chutzpah.

Finally, and perhaps most significantly, Ms. Dhillon delivers a lengthy lecture from her law office in San Francisco about what we in Los Angeles should do about electing Central Committee members and officers in the future. This is where the name calling comes in. Robert Vaughn and his Executive Board—good and decent Republicans one and all—are demonized by my San Francisco counterpart as the sort who “don’t play well with others, who might elevate personal interests over party unity, and who actively espouse values abhorrent to central conservative tenets.” These unfounded attacks are a continuation of an endless stream of name calling that’s been going on since Robert Vaughn and other newcomer colleagues were elected in the first place, and it’s bothersome indeed to see such personal vituperation coming up over and over again. Enough name calling, already.

The emergence of newcomers in Republican Party leadership positions is not merely a Los Angeles County phenomenon. Just this past weekend, the Los Angeles Times ran a front page story about the fresh faced activists all around the country who are stepping forward at the grassroots level in the Republican Party to make their voices heard in the face of concerted opposition from the entrenched operatives who have been running (ruining?) things for years. As one activist was quoted in the Times about the newcomers: “It’s not from Michael Steele’s office down. It’s from the ground up. The party is over for the old guard.” People are calling out for better leadership than the old timers provided, and they’re going to get it.

New leaders; grassroots activism; fresh faces; better ideas—that’s the epic wave of the future, but the coup plotters of May 14, 2009 have placed themselves directly in its path vainly shouting “stop.” The RPLAC/Vaughn vs. Barnett lawsuit is simply one clear and obvious example of a broader struggle between newcomers and old guarders that’s playing itself out on a national basis, and the times we’re living right now are an exciting, albeit tumultuous, moment for freedom and new directions. Will all the political controversies be settled and decided in a single court proceeding? Of course not. But the actions of the coup plotters in this case were far beyond the pale of acceptable conduct, and we’ll be asking the Los Angeles Superior Court to so find.

The Old Veterans Guard Proposes a $2.5 Billion “GRAND PLAN” to Rebuild the Largest VA in the Nation

On Sunday, February 21, the Old Veterans Guard held a press conference to announce a $2.5 billion “Grand Plan” to rebuild the Los Angeles National Veterans Home into a sovereign and Grand Home, just as it was deeded 122 years ago… “To be permanently maintained as a National Home for Disabled Soldiers.”

The press conference was held during the Old Veterans’ 100th consecutive Sunday Rally protesting the abuse and misuse of Veterans sacred land.

Likening the current conditions of the dilapidated buildings at the Veterans Home to the ruins of war-torn Europe and Japan 65 years ago, the Old Veterans are calling on General Eric K. Shinseki, Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, to demolish the archaic and obsolete buildings of the 1930s and rebuild this sacred land, in a manner similar to the Marshall Plan that rebuilt Europe.

The Old Veterans "Grand Plan" calls for the Department of Veterans Affairs to invest at least $2.5 billion to transform and rebuild these ruinous and dysfunctional facilities into a 21st Century National Veterans Home. (See Attachment)

That's hardly a drop in the government’s stimulus bucket when considering what it spends to engage the two current Wars and the amount of money spent to bail out mismanaged banks, investment, insurance and automotive companies.

Surely our government can invest this small token to save the lives of 20,000 homeless Veterans while ensuring Disabled Veterans that they will always have a place to call “Home.”

By rebuilding this sacred land into a Grand Veterans Home that we can be proud of, we will be investing in tangible assets to pass on to future generations of Veterans. Bottom line is that the investment will be in building a safe haven for Veterans instead of building a more bloated VA bureaucracy with non-Veteran employees.

Those who think they have an entitlement to take this sacred land and turn it into whatever serves their special interests under the shameful guise of “honoring our veterans,” are seriously misguided in their morals and lack decency of respect .

This land was specifically deeded as a National Veterans Home, and it was never meant in the slightest to be used for a public park, a community entertainment center, a used car lot, private school grounds, open / green space, or any other asinine and self-serving notion.

At the press conference, Bob Handy, a 77 year-old retired Navy Chief and Corpsman, shared photos of Disabled Veterans from the two current Wars that our country is engaged in. For those VA bureaucrats who have seriously mismanaged and abused this sacred land, you need to look at the photos on the following weblink and see the reality of what the word “Disabled” means in the Deed of 1888, and to clearly understand that it is your duty to make sure that they will always have absolute access to their Veterans Home without any external intrusion, whatsoever, or any internal harassment by the VA police.

A Photo Gallery of Military Personnel Wounded in Iraq & Afghanistan:
http://www.thememoryhole.org/war/wounded/gallery.htm

These photos need to remind every American of what the real price of freedom really costs. This Veterans Home is an exclusive Club because so many have paid an arm and a leg to be a Member.

Anyone who has any hint of using these sacred grounds for anything but a Home to heal from War, had better keep it to themselves, because Veterans will no longer remain silent about who you are and what you are!

We the People have an open-end contract and responsibility to ensure that the finest Veterans Home imaginable will always be there for our Disabled Veterans, so that never again will anyone “misunderstand” the legal and moral meaning of: “To be permanently maintained as a National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers.”

Dave Culmer, a retired 20-year Marine, Korean and Vietnam War Veteran, Chairman of the Los Angeles County Veterans Advisory Committee, Chairman, National Veterans Foundation, Service Director for the American Legion of the Los Angeles County Council, and the Greater Los Angeles Mental Health Consumer Advocacy Council, with more than 30 years experience assisting Veterans with mental injuries, spoke about ending Post Trauma Stress Disorder ... as we know it, i.e., PTSD, and introduced a more accurate diagnosis and term for mental and emotional injuries suffered while defending our nation: “Military Trauma Reaction” or MTR.

This injury is exclusive to those who wear the Uniform and should never be bundled up and shared with civilian trauma-type injuries.

Fellow Veterans and Friends of Veterans: We are embarking upon a new journey and a proud era to honor and serve the defenders of America’s freedom and independence. We encourage your full support and active participation to make it a success.

Please see the attached Old Veterans “Grand Plan” to transform this current national disgrace into a place of honor, dignity and respect as a permanent Home for America’s Military Veterans to rest, rehabilitate and recover from the atrocities of War they have suffered in our behalf.

Robert L. All supporters are urged to attend at this press conference.

The location is West of the 405 Freeway, adjacent to Brentwood. amd outside the Los Angeles National Veterans Home (aka VA Greater West Los Angeles Healthcare System) Organized by the: “Old Veterans Guard”Contact: Robert Rosebrock – “ Veterans Today News Network”E-mail: RRosebrock1@aol.com
American Military Veterans in their 60s, 70s and 80s from World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War, who make up the “Old Veterans Guard,” will be holding their 100th consecutive Sunday Rally to "Save Our Veterans Land" by celebrating it as the “Veterans Grand Rally”

Background Information: These patriotic, loyal and stalwart Veterans are vehemently opposed to any use of Veterans land that violates the Congressional Act of 1887 and Land Grant Deed of 1888, which states specifically that their sacred land in West Los Angeles is “to be permanently maintained as National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers.

World War II Veterans Dan Overmyer and Steve Palmer have called a press conference for the “Grand Rally” that will unite fellow Veterans from Santa Barbara to San Diego and to the Inland Empire to declare opposition against the chained and padlocked front gates at the entry of the Los Angeles National Veterans Home while 20,000 of their fellow Veterans remain homeless on the dangerous streets of Los Angeles.

Members of the Old Veterans Guard will have major announcements regarding the land abuse and misuse at the National Veterans Home and serious plans to end Veteran homelessness in Los Angeles.

In a recent announcement from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Secretary Eric K. Shinseki proclaimed: “President Obama and I are personally committed to ending homelessness among Veterans within the next five years. Those who have served this nation as Veterans should never find themselves on the streets, living without care and without hope.” Secretary Shinseki further declared:”The VA will spend $3.2 billion next year to prevent and reduce homelessness among Veterans.”

Local Veterans want a large portion of that money spent at “The Home” as it is both affectionately and reverently called, since this is the largest VA in the nation and LA has a homeless population of Veterans larger than some cities.

The Old Veterans Guard will reveal a "Grand Plan" for a "Grand Home" that includes Resident Towers and Dining Halls for homeless Veterans, and a "Grand Service Center" for all Veterans. All of this is being done in honor of the Grand Army of the Republic which was the first Veterans Organization after the Civil War, and was instrumental in the establishment of the National Veterans Homes all across America. © 2010 – Old Veterans Guard – All Rights Reserved

Skid Row Townhall Event on February 14th 2010

REPUBLICAN OUTREACH
to MINORITY COMMUNITIES

Phase 1

Skid Row “You Choose” Town Hall Meeting

Downtown Los Angeles

Sunday, Febuary 14th, 2010

To All Interested Republicans:

In our desire to stimulate our massive one million plus (1,000,000 +) Angelinos who are registered Republicans, making our County Party the largest in the United States -- we are calling upon you to help by sponsoring and/or volunteering at an educational Town Hall Meeting in downtown Los Angeles.

This unprecedented, historical community event

is scheduled for: Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 1 to 4 PM

A permit has been issued by the Los Angeles Police Commission and arrangements are being made to cordon off a city block on San Julian Street between 6th and 7th Streets.

The purpose of this outdoor Town Hall Meeting

is to educate our fellow citizens dwelling at the lower end of our society on the issues of the economy, health care, housing, gainful employment, our judicial system, and politics in general.

A Multi-Party Effort

While The Republican Party of Los Angeles County is sponsoring this event, all political parties are invited to participate by setting up their own information tables to speak with attendees about their party’s platforms, principles, and accomplishments, and to encourage attendees to participate politically in order to make a difference in their lives and community.

What makes this event unprecedented and historical is the fact that Republicans are reaching out to the homeless community and simultaneously inviting other parties, including Democrats, to join the effort. Essentially, we are “calling out” the other parties to present their ideals to the most needy and vulnerable people in Los Angeles County.

We hope the event will garner significant media/press attention, which will encourage fellow Republicans to become more active in Republican affairs; to recruit homeless, disenfranchised, lower income folks to register and vote Republican and to stimulate interest in the political process. Perhaps members of other parties will even switch to ours when they learn of our platform and know what we stand for.

Ways you can help with our Republican effort:

1. Donate funds to help pay for:

Cost of $114 to place barricades
Cost of two portable toilets with washing stations and handy-wipes
Healthy snack bags for residents
Entertainment
Hiring 10 locals to assist with security, set-up and clean up
Signs and placards

2.
